The two faces of Dacre Montgomery (“Stranger Things”) make up the new artwork for Faces of Death, a meta horror remake of the notorious 1978 faux documentary. The film hits theaters April 10 via Independent Film Company and Shudder. Before that, it will screen at Beyond Fest Chicago and New Orleans’ Overlook Film Festival. Continuing the exploration of the original film’s infamous ‘Is it real or not?’ conceit, the reboot follows a woman working as a content moderator for a major video platform who discovers what appears to be re-enactments of murders from Faces of Death. In an online world where nothing can be trusted, she must determine whether the violence is fiction or unfolding in real time. Barbie Ferreira (“Euphoria”), Josie Totah (“Saved by the Bell”), Aaron Holliday (Cocaine Bear), Jermaine Fowler (Sorry to Bother You), and pop superstar Charli XCX also star. Daniel Goldhaber (Cam, How to Blow Up a Pipeline) directs from a script he co-wrote with Isa Mazzei (Cam). Legendary Entertainment, Don Murphy & Susan Montford of Angry Films Entertainment, and Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer produce. Mazzei, Derek Bishé, and Rick Benattar serve as executive producers. Filmed back in 2023, Faces of Death is rated R for “strong bloody violence and gore, sexual content, nudity, language, and drug use.” Related Topics:Dacre MontgomeryFaces of Death Alex DiVincenzo You may like ‘Obsession’ to Open and ‘Hokum’ to Close 10th Edition of Overlook Film Festival Beyond Fest Chicago Inaugural Event to Open with ‘Obsession’ and Close with ‘Faces of Death’ New Look at Dacre Montgomery in ‘Faces of Death’ Remake Click to comment Movies ‘Happy Death Day’ Director Christopher Landon to Helm Supernatural Horror Film ‘Final Boarding’ Published 29 minutes ago on March 11, 2026 By Alex DiVincenzo Pictured: 'Final Destination' While we await his long-promised Happy Death Day 3, Christopher Landon has signed on to write and direct Final Boarding, Deadline reports.
